Docalwas founded in 2019 in Catania with the aim of narrating wine and cuisine through a new and contemporary language, built on research, attention to the raw material and care for the guest's experience. In 2021, chef Vincenzo Vetrano began his collaboration, sharing his identity and contributing to the growth of the project. Since December 1, 2025, Vincenzo Vetrano has been the owner of the restaurant and leads its vision with continuity and consistency.
Over time, Docalhas established itself as one of the most interesting gastronomic realities in Catania, to the point of being recognized among the ten best gourmet restaurants in the city. The space, refined and elegant, combines sobriety and refinement without ever being distant, while wine remains the identifying element of every experience.
The gastronomic proposal by Docal
At the entrance, the counter with fine cold cuts and cheeses anticipates Docal's cooking philosophy: careful selection and attention to origins. Among the most requested proposals, the pizza al padellino according to Piedmontese recipe, served with truffle burrata, truffle pillow, porcini mushrooms and parmesan flakes. This is followed by very elegant dishes such as the carabineros tartars and Mazara red shrimp, to the carpaccio of Angus and Wagyu, where the raw material always remains the protagonist.

The Docalwinery has more than 60 labels including Sicilian grape varieties, from the reds of Etna to the whites of western Sicily, accompanied by valuable references from different parts of the world.
